The five-minute linguist, 2019: eCIP title page (edited by Caroline Myrick and Walt Wolfram) data view (Caroline Myrick, co-editor of this book, holds a PhD from the Department of Sociology at North Carolina State University, where she specialized in sociolinguistics and social inequality. Her research focuses include language and gender, social inequality, and lesser-known varieties of English. Her doctoral dissertation examined gender inequality as it relates to language ideologies in higher education. She has numerous publications based on the sociolinguistic fieldwork she carried out on the Caribbean island of Saba. Recently, she helped publish the first Saban English dictionary, A Lee Chip (NCLLP, 2016))
